About us
Mrs Janet Mills is our Head Teacher.
As well as attending lots of meetings and making lots of important decisions, she takes assemblies and teaches small groups. Sometimes she takes our classes if our teacher is away. Mrs Mills runs an After School Drama Club for KS2 children and every year they put on several performances. She also runs a Country Dancing Club sometimes culminating in dancing on the Cathedral Green at Wells. The children also benefit from French Classes which she runs at lunch time. In July 2004 and April 2006, she taught in Zambia as part of our link with Mufulira Basic School. The youngest child in each family attending our school will bring home a school newsletter, from Mrs. Mills, every other Thursday. Mrs Shiona Case and Mrs Debbie Dower are our hardworking office staff.
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday they both work in the office while on Friday you will find just Mrs. Dower in the office. Mrs. Dower has helped run the cycle training for years 5 and 6 for the last five years and she also runs a cookery club with Mrs. Holbrook.
We have two cleaners Mrs Liz Gosney and Mr Wayne.
Mrs Gosney comes in before school and both cleaners come in after school each day.
We have a technician who comes in for a few hours a week to help maintain our ICT equipment; Mr Glenn Tracey (from Ansford School) comes in on Wednesday mornings.
Our Chair of Governors is Mr Simon Peck. He is very actively involved in our school and meets regularly with children to discuss their views.
As well as our music curriculum, some children have lessons during the school day with two excellent music teachers; Mr Roger Trim and Mrs Laura Carvel.
With their expert tuition we are developing some very talented musicians.
Some children also have Music Technology Lessons.
